AFTERCARE

Traditional Healing

Leave your bandage or wrapping on for 2-4 hours and remove when you get home. Wash with soap and water and pat dry with clean towel/ paper towel. If your tattoo is weeping a lot you can wrap it in saran wrap the first 2 nights. Be sure to only wrap at nighttime and that your tattoo goes into the wrap freshly washed and dried. Do not put any ointment on while it is wrapped. Wash 2-3 times a day and use a light moisturizer (water based lotion) as needed. Be sure you are not over saturating your tattoo with moisturizer (You just want it balmy and rubbed in). Your tattoo should be healed in about 2-4 weeks.

Second Skin Healing (Saniderm, Dermor, etc.)

Leave bandage on for 1-3 days (or your artist's recommendation). Remove under warm water by peeling upward. Wash with soap and water and apply unscented lotion for the remainder of healing (1-4 weeks). If your bandage rips/leaks or if you develop a reaction, remove it immediately and follow the previously stated instructions.

DO NOT soak your tattoo in a bath, pool, lake, ocean, river or any other body of water until fully healed (it is considered fully healed once all the scabs and peeling have settled and smoothed out).

DO NOT pick at scabs or scratch at your healing tattoo.

DO NOT expose your healing tattoo to excessive sunlight, tanning beds, gyms, or areas of high traffic where people sweat.
